This offer is for an original, vintage, OHAUS® 1970's student metric weight set. The set contains it's original box, polypropylene case, stainless steel forceps, gram and fractional weights. The six fractional weights, in mg are: 20, 50, 100, 2 x 200 & 500mg and were made from stainless steel. The eight gram weights are: 1, 2 x 2, 5, 2 x 10, 20 & 50 gm and are made of brass.  This item was made in the

According to the outer box (which does not list the exact contents), the metric weights are between 10mg - 50gm and upon doing some research the more recent Ohaus® metric weight sets had 16 pieces total. The offered set therefore does not have the 10mg and a second 20 mg fractional weight but the set is complete otherwise.  The metric weight set, Model #241, set was made by the Ohaus Scale Corporation in

The weight set has had one owner. The seller purchased the weight set in 1976 at a university book store and was used in several science lab classes in the mid-1970's. The box still contains the original price sticker and it appears to have been dated 7/75 (July 1975). Since the late 1970's, the weight set has been stored in its original box and case and has not been used since.
Overall, the metric weight set is in very good to excellent condition. The brass gram weights and stainless steel fractional weights are still shiny and are not damaged. The outer box shows some wear as it was stored this way with other objects inside a drawer.
